GE4 meets to discuss general policy, strategy and next actions, with the aim to overcome barriers and problems in education and research among the different countries, to set models to be imitated or to increase the global understanding of the different partners involved.
The European process of integration has generated a new need for competent engineers and businessmen, able to work equally in Germany, Great Britain or France, etc.
Though European authorities have made big efforts to foster student mobility, all observers recognize that quantitative objectives are not sufficient; there is a need of a much stronger involvement to give young graduates an adequate preparation to work efficiently in multicultural teams.
The GE4 is constituted as a non profit association with a french legal personality (association loi 1901); It offers a flexible framework open to members representing themselves as persons or professional bodies. The association, administered by a European Executive Committee and a General Secretariat based in Paris, gathers on its board industry, university and administration representatives. The International Experts Board serves as a consultancy structure, in order to provide services to the industrialists and universities willing to conduct new projects abroad.
